How to configure your mouse in Windows and macOS

These settings affect the behavior of the mouse in the operating system interface and most programs. As for the games, then they basically have their own settings available in the in-game menu.

If you have non-standard mouse, such as gamer with lots of extra buttons, you may need a separate program for its setting. Such software can usually be found on the disk that comes with the manipulator or the manufacturer's website. For normal mice as listed below will be sufficient action.

How to configure your mouse in Windows

Open the "Control Panel". This configuration section can be found by right clicking on the icon "Start", or through the search system. Click "Hardware and Sound" on the panel that opens → «Mouse». A window will appear with several tabs that contain different settings of the manipulator.

In the "Pointer Options" you will find the cursor speed control. Move the slider in the right direction and make sure the mouse in action.

Tab "The wheel" contains parameters of the mouse wheel. It is possible to select a number of text lines on which the image is shifted vertically after one rotation wheel. And also the number of characters on the screen is shifted horizontally with inclination toward the wheel.

In the "mouse buttons" you can change the buttons to the right to perform the action, the default reserved for the left, and vice versa. This can be useful if you're a lefty. Below is a slider to change the double-click speed: it is better to reduce, if the folder is not always open after two clicks.

Tab "Pointers" to select the shape and size of the cursor. Use the "Browse" button, you can select one of the preset or downloaded from the web pointer types.

How to configure your mouse in macOS

On a Mac, configure the mouse even easier. Expand the Apple menu and go to "System settings» → «Mouse». A window appears with the manipulator settings.

In this section you can configure the speed of the cursor, scrolling, and double-click, and choose which one will be the primary mouse button. More you can invert the direction of scrolling, so when you turn the wheel over the image going down, if you prefer.
