Still, whatever you say, and the old Opera has played a huge role in the modern brauzerostroenii. Its creators were never afraid to introduce new features and always listening to the feedback from users. Today Opera though is the heir to the documents of the famous Norwegian browser, but most still like a foundling from a foreign family.
Several years ago, Jon von Tetzchner, Opera Software one of the founders of this state of affairs finally tired, so he decided to undertake the development of an entirely new browser. Thus was born the Vivaldi - browser, which is based on the latest technologies, but it continues the tradition of the good old Opera. the first preliminary version of the program came out earlier this year, and we decided to see what it can do.
Appearance of the browser is quite succinct and meets today fashionable minimalist trends. Located on top of the tab bar and basket button that brings up a list of the last closed pages. A little surprised that a separate field for search, from which other browsers have already escaped. At the bottom of the window is a status bar that displays the address when you hover over the link. On the right side it has a loading control button images and scale changes display scale. Here is an interesting button called "page effect", which allows you to apply to the site one of the built-in CSS-styles.
But let us return back to the tab bar. On this element programmers interface thoroughly worked and introduced some very interesting features. First thing that strikes the eye, the color of the panels and the active tab changes depending on the design of the open page. As a result, there is a feeling that the browser becomes an integral part of each site. Great find developers!
But beauty is not limited to changes. In Vivaldi browser is implemented exactly the same function group of tabs, which was in the last version of the old Opera. You can simply drag one tab to another, and they form a group. When you hover the mouse over this group, you will see a preview of all the sites included in it as a tooltip and a single click will be able to jump to the desired page.
Disband your collected a group of tabs, you can use the context menu that appears when you click the right mouse button. Here is the command that allows you to arrange all the sites of the group in the form of tiles that fill the entire space of the browser window.
An important feature of the old Opera was the side sidebar, perform a variety of useful functions. There is a similar bokovushka in Vivaldi. It opens key F4 or with a special button on the status bar.
Here we can see the section of bookmarks, downloads, contacts, notes and even a blank for the built-in email client. Currently it is not yet available, unfortunately. But the notebook works fine, allowing you to save links, text, quotes, and other necessary things.
Window Vivaldi settings requires careful consideration, as it contains a lot of options that affect the function and appearance of the program. So, here we can move the tab bar on either side of the screen, change the location of the address line, set up your shortcuts, set the home page, specify the download folder, and more more.
I am sure that you are now tormented question of support for browser extensions. Answer it clearly does not work, because at the moment they are officially not in Vivaldi supported, however, many extensions with Chrome Web Store and safely installed work. There is even a special page vivaldi: // chrome / extensionsWhere you can manage your installed extensions. But in the very near future, developers promise to do everything necessary for comfortable use extensions in Vivaldi.
One of the most important characteristics of any browser is the speed and compatibility with modern web standards. With that Vivaldi everything is in order, because it is used in the same engine from the Chromium, and that most competitors. Yes, the program is more capricious and displays some sites more "in their own way", but let's not forget that this is not the final release, and one of the pre-test assemblies.
Summing up, I want to take my hat off to the creators of Vivaldi. These guys still managed to create not just another clone of Chrome, but really original and interesting web browser, has a mass of original chips. In my opinion the potential of this browser is huge, especially if developers will continue to listen to the opinions of its users as they do now.
And what do you think? Vivaldi can make a revolution, and oust the current leaders?
