It is difficult to argue with the fact that Apple has the best designers in the world, designers and programmers. However, opening the App Store, the company gave a chance and ISVs. Over time, the quality of their applications has become so high that they are now on an equal footing to compete with epplovskimi developments.
I noticed that almost stopped using most of the standard applications. Here is the program, which I eventually moved:
Replacing the "Reminder» (Reminders)
Reminders appear in the fifth version of iOS. The program is offered to users several interesting features, including binding reminders to the terrain. But one great designers missed: in the application is not possible to prioritize tasks. I am sure that all Tasco should go not just a simple list, but to be ordered by importance: the most important points are higher than less important / urgent tasks.

Replacing the "Notes» (Notes)
The standard "Notes" and could not get used to. At first annoyed font, then the problem was the lack of a version for OS X. Inconvenient to carry notes from iPhone to laptop manually every day.

Replacing Mail.app
Standard mailer is actually quite good. Desperately he was not looking for a replacement. But when he left Sparrow for the iPhone, I went to him and did not regret. Sparrow from the beginning has been focused on integration with Gmail, but I just take this postal service. Dolphin - a worthy alternative to Safari. The browser I like it that opens the pages in separate windows, and in the tabs. But there is a Dolphin and other benefits: extensive support for gestures (you can define your own - for example, by drawing M, open http://www.macradar.ru), Speed Dial (visual bookmarks to your favorite sites), easily link from the address bar, full-screen mode (useful for reading), night mode (display brightness is muted). The program is free and is worth it to you to try it.
One caveat - do not buy the voice control. Not only the quality of the speech recognition is low, but it's slow. Even to open the voice tab, the browser has to send a request to a web server. It takes 2-3 seconds, which is very slow.

Replacing the "weather"
Standard application - like reworked version of a widget for OS X. A sort of a greeting from the 2007 th. Now I use the program Gismeteo. In my view, the application has user-friendly interface. Pleased with the presence of weather for hours and days. On the forecast accuracy is also not complaining.

Replacing the music player
About Panamp I told several friends, and in glowing terms. Visually program remotely resembles the style Tapbots.

Replacing Reader-mode in Safari

Replacing iMessage
iMessage - a great idea. The program automatically detects the person you want to send an SMS, and if it turns out that the recipient also uses the i-gadget, a message is sent free of charge. The only problem is that the owners of iPhones in Russia is still a little.

Replacing the "map"
For most application "Maps" service and Google Maps have no complaints. Just "Yandex" has done better: it takes into account local specificities.
