The most spacious messenger for Mac received a big update. Now Franz can run on desktop computers running Windows and Linux. In addition to this expanded list of supported applications.
We already wrote about Franz - a single application for the most popular instant messengers, unfortunately only works on the Mac. And mentions that the developers have promised to teach their offspring to work in other operating systems. Finally!
Large universal messenger client update has brought two major innovations. The first and most significant - now Franz can be run on the OS Linux and WindowsBy selecting the appropriate applications that are available for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. In addition, the number of supported services for sharing content and messaging has increased from 8 to 14. Former Franz was able to work with the following services:
- Slack,
- HipChat,
- Facebook Messenger,
- Telegram,
- WhatsApp,
- Google Hangouts,
- skype,
- Grape.
Update brought support for 6 more messengers:
- ChatWork,
- GroupMe,
- SteamCommunity,
- Gitter,
- Discord,
- WeChat.
As in the earlier version of the application, adapted messengers look almost the same as the native application. Unfortunately, in full work only text chat and send files. Function audio and video all work just through the browser. Let us hope that in the near future, this situation will be rectified and will be full support for all the required functions.
