Upgrade Google Maps for Android will save bandwidth and device memory

Google Maps for Android has long been able to keep a site map for offline use. And today in this program there are two new features that will allow you to reduce the use of mobile data and save space in the device memory.
Saving card on your smartphone is designed to not use mobile data for navigation. However, even with the device, Google Maps pre-loaded cards can periodically access the network to load the missing data. In some cases, it could be an unpleasant surprise for those users who, for example, are in roaming.
Now, in the application settings there is a special option "Only on Wi-FiĀ». Its activation will force the application to use only the data that you have previously downloaded, and load the maps of other areas. This way you can protect yourself from an unplanned background use of mobile data traffic, when this is not permitted.
The second innovation will please those users who do not have enough memory. Now there is a choice of storage cards. Given a sufficiently capacious SD-card that will give you the opportunity to save as many areas for offline use, as you need.
The appearance of the functions described above makes use of Google Maps in offline mode more convenient. Now you can download all the maps on external memory and virtually no waste mobile traffic.
