Who is faster: Marshmallow and Nougat
Android / / December 19, 2019
During the presentation of each new version of Android developers claim a radical increase in the operating system performance. However, whether this is in fact so? We compare the speed of the Android Nougat with a previous version of Android Marshmallow.
One of the participants of the forum XDA Developers to developers decided to check how much the speed of the latest Android Nougat from a previous version of Android Marshmallow. For this he has fulfilled the performance tests of the two systems and made this process on video.
In the beginning we can see a comparison of the speed of loading systems. Then estimated responsiveness of the interface and run different applications. In conclusion, the author demonstrates the video results of the five synthetic tests on both devices.
Marshmallow | Nougat | |
AnTutu | 73 960 | 65 162 |
Geekbench 4 | 1 218 / 2 281 | 687 / 1 908 |
> BaseMarkOS II | 1 410 | 498 |
PCMARK | 4 287 | 4 244 |
3DMARK | 1 233 | 1 128 |
The figures speak for themselves. New version of Android does not bring any increase in productivity. Quite the contrary. I do not think that several benchmarks are wrong or simply not understood. Let's hope for the future patches that optimize Android Nougat speed. But while Marshmallow performance looks better in the plan.
And you will be installing Android 7 Nougat, when you get a chance?
