Motivation Inspiration / / December 19, 2019
"What a beauty!" - these words exclaims, when you look at Olga Zhuravleva, guests special project "There are no excuses." And when you start to communicate with her, then you will know that it is also very clever.
In this interview about girls' dreams pioneers Oli, crashed on the categorical diagnosis, and how to give rise to new goals.
Pioneer - an example to all!
- Hi, Olya! Thank you that you participate in this special project.
- Hi, Nastya! Thank you for inviting.
- First, by tradition, since childhood. Tell about him?
- I was born in one of the villages of the Krasnodar Territory and lived there for 19 years.
My childhood was a real pioneer: with icons, bells and a red tie. There was also a team leader, and chairman of the board of the detachment, and the chairman of squads. She took part in all the possible activities. In short, an activist! :)
I wanted to try everything: music school, ballroom dancing, theater workshop, optional English and math - I was everywhere.
He dreamed of becoming a translator.
- You're the one to take the initiative or parents made?
- Herself. I was not forced. But I "burned" all this. Maybe because it all worked out, and perhaps because subconsciously foresaw disease and greedily absorbs all these knowledge and skills.
- As the disease manifested itself?
- I was in the 9th grade. A student, a leader, an activist. I was promised a bright future. Teachers thought I was the pride of the school, hoping that will get the gold medal. Close hoping that will do to a prestigious university and build a successful career.
It all started with the fact that I stopped going to physical education classes - could no longer do. Followed by numerous surveys.
Diagnosed. After that - a series of clinics, hospitals, sanatoriums.
When I returned, I saw that the sick girl, no one makes a "bet." Will knit socks to order - and that is good.
- What did you feel then?
- all my dreams have collapsed. I thought that all my efforts were in vain. No knowledge of English or music school, or drama club - none of that I do not come in handy.
I no longer was an excellent leader and activist.
The last two years in school - just to complete their education, seeing no prospects and without building any plans for the future.
- What was the most difficult in this period?
- The hardest thing - to accept. Themselves and life in the new circumstances. I do not really care that I can not get up and walk, but I was very upset that because of this, I can not herself to achieve what I wanted.
The new city - new life
- Olya, you graduated?
- When I was 19 years old, our family moved to Gelendzhik. Apparently, the adaptation period came to its logical conclusion, because when I accidentally saw announcement of a set in the Southern Institute of Management, I am on the same day went back and wrote a statement on receipt. Despite the fact that the institution of a commercial and at that time I did not have money to pay for his studies.
- And where did you get them?
- First, to help the local MP, and then began to work.
12 years ago, we (my family) have offered to open a branch of the Moscow company for the construction and sale of swimming pools in Gelendzhik. Since then, there and work.
- How is your normal working day?
- I wake up at around 8 am. Going. Father comes and takes me to the office where I work until 7pm. Back home, doing household chores and go to rest.
A typical day of an ordinary woman.
- What motivates you in the days when you do not want to pack up and go to the office?
- Calls! :) Calling customers and staff, ask questions, and I understand that I have no choice. You need to go.
When you see that people need, it is necessary to pull together and do their job. Wheel running: you have to go and do.
And it's good for me. If you long to sit at home, comes laziness, and with it the reflection and unwanted thoughts in my head.
- I hope you at least sometimes rest?
- Of course! :) meet friends, have a rest in sanatoriums. In the summer here I went to Lithuania, in the same camp, where he was Roman Aranin. There's a good camp, equipped, and very relaxed atmosphere.
The image of disabled
- Olya, as far as I know, recently you still come back to the "social activity", in particular, he took part in a beauty contest. This is true?
- Yes. It was a contest of tolerance and independence of the "Queen of Olympus" for girls and women with disabilities who are constantly using to move the wheelchair.
It was held in the Republic of Adygea, the city of Maikop. I was invited to participate friend and I agreed.
- Why? What prompted this?
- Probably, I wanted to remember the past. Again feel the scene. Try to see if I forgot something, what had once studied.
- Do not remember? :)
- First, during rehearsals, it was difficult. We had to introduce myself. I was embarrassed: woman in a wheelchair is engaged in self-promotion ...
But the director said to me: 'Olga, throw it out of my head! You have nothing to be ashamed of! ". I thought, really, what have I done that excellent students and activists, which was in his youth? Nothing! On the contrary, I was older and wiser.
- How was the competition?
- Two weeks training, and several stages of the competition itself. As a result, the title - Vice-Muse.
- In your opinion, whether such competitions are necessary?
- I am for it". During the performance, I could see the reaction of people in the hall. Many do not even suggested that women with disabilities who move in wheelchairs, can be so attractive!
And for the participants - it's an incentive to move forward, a way to gain confidence in themselves. After all, some of them also did not know what they are beautiful. :)
I think such competitions help to shape a new image of a disabled person.
- And what is it, the image of a disabled person in the public eye?
- This is the image that I saw as a child - the man who came from the war, a man who asks.
Fortunately, it is rooted in the past.
But I would really like to see there was skewed in the other direction - the disabled superheroes, every day to perform the feat. We are the same people. Just work, conduct business, solve everyday problems, sadness and fun, fall in love and breaking up.
- Olya, and how do you manage to maintain such a beautiful shape and so fabulous to look like?
Nothing special I do not. I go to the pool, sometimes - to the beautician. I love Russian bath. I do not drink, do not smoke, try to drink more water, eat less fat and sweet, do not eat at night. That's all "life hacking". :)
- The last question is about beauty saving the world. Xenia told BezuglovaHe plans to organize a national competition of beauty among women with disabilities. Will you participate?
- If invited, perhaps. It is terrible, but it's a gamble, and I'm an adventurer. :)
Setting goals
- Olya, like Gelendzhik things with a barrier-free environment?
- Not really... The new building, of course, equipped, but a free ride in Gelendzhik is possible only along the promenade and several shopping centers.
- But this resort town ?!
- Yes. But as I understand it, all the forces thrown at Sochi. By the way, was there 2 years ago and just recently, at the end of 2013th. Progress is evident. Everywhere ramps and lifts, spets.znachki; and in those hotels and shops where you can not equip - call buttons personnel. Even taxi drivers trained and helpful.
Soon I'll go to the Paralympics - all will test personally.
- What are your plans for the future?
- Business expansion. When we started, we were the only local company in this market segment. Now the competition is enormous, and we need to move forward.
It is planned to hold a similar competition that was in Adygea, in our region, and I plan to participate in it.
Of course, I want to travel. I dream of the Maldives, Prague, Mexico... :)
- Our project is called "No excuses." How do you know for yourself the phrase?
- For me, there is no justification, if you want to achieve something. If you want to make, you do not need to tell us how you feel bad, you have something hurts, you can not go to work. Earn! If you invent excuses, it is not very much and want to achieve the intended purpose.
- Finally your readers farewell Layfhakera.
- Set goals and strive for them. Understand what you want, define a goal and go for it.
Perhaps, at first it will be a small target, but then when you reach it, it will be for other, more important.
Go to your goals and do not look for any excuses!
- Olya, perfect farewell in the best traditions of the Pioneer movement! :) Thanks for the interview!
- And thank you, Nastya!
