How to plan 2020
Motivation / / December 19, 2019
Remember what happened to the old year and make plans for the new in just four steps.
What you'll need
- 3 hours of time. Make sure that you have nothing to distract.
- A large sheet of paper and stickers. It is better to write on paper, but come up and the computer.
- Pen and colored markers.
- Table or board to put all records.
- Diaries, calendars and other notes to remember what happened during the year.
- Loved ones. You can do this exercise alone, but discussions with loved ones will benefit more.
Step 1. Think about the past year
Look at your photos, write in diaries, calendars, correspondence with relatives. So you remember what to do and have experienced this year. Set a timer for one hour and proceed.
After that, answer the following questions:
- What were the main events of the year? What caused you a sense of pride, joy and love?
- What you met difficulties? What caused you pain, caused anger or sadness?
- What have you learned over the years? What have we learned about yourself, other people and the world?
For each question select three minutes. If you are performing the exercise with someone, discuss what you surprised that you especially remember how these events affect you that you will remember in five years.
Now move on a large sheet of paper or in a document on your computer:
- 5 major events. Congratulate yourself and celebrate the victory.
- 5 challenges . Rejoice that they back, that they have not broken. And do not think about them. Tear or burn sticker on which the list.
- 5 lessons. Time is not automatically transformed into wisdom. Her need to squeeze yourself.
Step 2. Evaluate your life in the moment,
Think in what areas of life all is well and what needed further attention. Rate each area from 1 to 5 in terms of how satisfied they do you feel: 1 - completely satisfied, 5 - completely satisfied.
For example, the scope may be as follows: health, communication, family, work, career, finances, emotional well-being.
Think about why you put it that assessment. What do you need in a particular area? What should be changed? If the score is high, how to maintain it at the same level? Mark it on a large sheet of a list of important events and lessons.
Step 3. Set goals for next year
Answer questions by selecting for each of three minutes:
- What do you want to achieve? What do you want to learn? Write down everything that comes to mind. This is your big list.
- What are the 3-5 items from a large list will make next year especially successful? Choose something that is really important to you. This is your short list.
Return to the purposes of a short list, and specify them more clearly. Think about how to define the end of the year, you will have success or not. Add deadline or specific action figure.
Identify your motivation. For each goal, list three needs or desires that motivate you to strive for it. If you want to open a business, motivation can be: risk appetite, extra income, the desire to prove that you are capable of it. Once you know the cause, you can more easily move toward the goal.
Step 4. Schedule direction
Make a realistic plan of action. To do this, consider these points, again highlighting every three minutes:
- Key points. Every three months you should place the next point. So you will see that moving in the right direction.
- new skills. What you will need the habits and attitudes in order to achieve their goals?
- communication. Who do you need to build or strengthen a relationship? Who will be able to inspire and support you on your way?
- Bad habits. On what would have to give up?
Write down on a large sheet of objectives and key steps to achieve them. Put reminders in your calendar in three, six and nine months to track their progress throughout the year.
Now before you list the achievements and lessons of the past year and clear goals for the new one. Keep it in sight, so as not to forget what you have achieved and what you strive for.
