Cheese generally it considered not the most useful product. However, scientists from Pennsylvania State University found that it reduces the harm that brings blood vessels to excessive use salt.
In their study, the researchers found that an excess of salt in the diet of adults leads to dysfunction of blood vessels. But in the group of subjects who are on the same diet added cheese portion of the day, this negative effect was not found.

While reducing the amount of salt in the diet is beneficial to the body, many extremely difficult to do so. But the consumption of dairy products can help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and to improve vascular condition without reducing the total sodium content.
The experiment involved 11 adults. Each of them in turn followed four diets:
- low salt content without dairy products;
- low salt content, the daily consumption of cheese;
- high salt content, no dairy products;
- high salt content, the daily consumption of cheese.
Each step lasted for 8 days, after which the researchers evaluated the status of their vessel and measured pressure. The results showed that after a week of a diet high in salt and cheese without blood vessels participating worse relaxed. But after a week on a diet high in salt and cheese everything was back to normal.
When the participants were of a diet high in sodium, but no dairy products, operation of blood vessels deteriorated to a level that is usually noted in people at high risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Although the reason for this effect remains unclear, the researchers suggest that antioxidants the cheese can play a key role.
