What kind of training
It is no secret that regular exercise strengthens health. However, this does not stop their use. According to recent research, some types of exercise can significantly slow aging and increase life expectancy.
High intensity interval training (HIIT) - is cardio at which the highest possible load alternated with brief break.
For example, interval running, in which you run a short distance at the limit of its capabilities, and then rest for a minute or two, and then repeat the race. Withstand such training is not easy, but the result is worth it.
How they work
Studies of interval training, the results of which were published in the journal Cell MetabolismEnhanced Protein Translation Underlies Improved Metabolic and Physical Adaptations to Different Exercise Training Modes in Young and Old HumansWere conducted on humans two age groups. The first group consisted of men and women aged 18 to 30 years, the second included men and women from 65 to 80 years. For 12 weeks, the subjects regularly attended classes, including HIIT. After the experiment, both groups showed results, which suggest a slowing of aging.
Both groups recorded an increase in insulin sensitivity, which means reducing the risk of diabetes. Also marked by increased activity of the ribosome, which in turn means an improvement in protein biosynthesis. The participants of the younger group to 49% increased performance of mitochondrial function which is responsible for energy production by cells of the body. For members of the senior age group the increase of this indicator was 69%.
According to the experiment, Dr. Neira Shrikumarana author (Dr. Sreekumaran Nair), protein synthesis, growth and increased of the energy produced can not only halt, but reverse some age-related changes cellInterval training exercise could be a fountain of youth. High intensity interval training stimulates both of these processes, due to which the aging is slowed down considerably.
If you have not included HIIT in its training program, it's time to do it. They will not only improve your health and appearance, but also give you a few extra years of life.
