I have not read the book «The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs», written by Carmine Gallo, but to me, although I can not be attributed to an unconditional Apple fans have always liked Steve spent his presentation and because I found interesting excerpts from the book, presented by Lynn Truong.
rule of Three
It has long been known that a person can not hold the attention of a large number of any items or themes. Successful writers, journalists and lecturers are aware of this, and Steve skillfully uses this rule to maintain a greater interest in the performance, grouping threads into digestible three.
Rule Ten Minutes
Audience "turned off" on communication with you exactly ten minutes, not eleven, namely ten.
Studies have shown that the human brain begins to get bored and look for an opportunity to escape exactly ten minutes. But this does not mean that you can not hold a performance that lasts much longer. You just need to interrupt it periodically. It can be anything, from answering questions to a video clip - all that interrupt routine and gives rest to the audience.
Less is better
The first four slide Jobs contain seven words, three numbers, one date and no transfers.
How often the lecturers are trying to place the full text of his speech on the slides. Maybe they are afraid to forget something, or think they are helping the audience, giving the opportunity to all to read and make notes. But research suggests that it sprays the audience's attention and reduces the impact of words on it. Instead Operate slides to several senses - use pictures, videos or animations with your own words. This will help the audience better understand the topic.
Practice
Jobs rehearses for hours. More precisely: he rehearses many, many, many hours each day for a long, long, long time.
When you see a presentation that is Jobs, you may find that he is talented in this birth. He is sure. Every time he does everything perfectly, without forgetting the slightest detail. And it seems so easy for him. But in reality, it just gives enough time grueling workout. And how much, when other speakers do not do it! It is understandable why they dragged my speech on the slides. The fewer words on the slides, the better to know the subject of speech and every detail in it. Practice. Practice more!
