Remember the fear that slang and text shortcuts, it flooded the youth due to rising popularity of sms, killing ordinary language? British students once even allowed use slang when writing an essay on the final, worrying that they otherwise would not be able to express their thoughts. Now the situation repeats itself with Emoji, but here there is something to argue, because Emoji become a kind of "appendage" of language - especially young people - and significantly improved communication online.
Emoji Japanese invented the cellular network operators. Initially ideograms exchanged only mobile phone users. Tiny pictures have become very popular in Japan and has spread far beyond its limits.
In the western world Emoji began to gain popularity after Apple added in iOS 5 first official Emoji keyboard. Consortium Unicode Emoji were standardized in 2011. Then they become a part of Unicode 6.0.
In fact, Emoji - it's just a two-byte character sequence that is recognized by our gadgets and replaced respective images. Just Unicode 6.0 772 Emoji. A recent update to version 7.0 has brought more
250 additional characters and it gives different shades of skin of people on icons.Virtually all young people use Emoji. According to data released recently, Instagram, almost half of the message contains at least a smiley?, which is the undisputed leader among all the other popular Emoji. Interesting statistics can be seen on the profile service Emojitracker, Real-time tracking the frequency of use of Emoji on Twitter. Given the popularity of Twitter, these statistics can be interpreted as information about how to use Emoji in general.

But with Emoji and associated problems. The biggest of them - the ambiguity of some of the characters. For example, the Emoji? looks like an angry face (at least for me), although the description is "the face of triumph."
Such things can be forgiven, as the standard Emoji quite young and still developing. The desktop operating system and web Emoji came relatively recently. In OS X, they appeared in 2011, in the more common Windows - one year later. Chrome browser has received support Emoji only this year, WordPress - just last month. But Google search for Emoji still not learned.

It seems that even the most ardent critics surrendered to the onslaught of advanced emoticons. And it confirms the fact that the Emoji entered into the everyday life of the older generation of users. My parents, for example, often inserted a couple of Emoji in our correspondence, and to do it not to seem modern, but simply because they are so convenient.
And what about the impact of Emoji you think, dear readers? Share your thoughts in the comments (you can with Emoji ☺️).
