Still work in Apple - it is something special. Besides the fact that you can feel a part of the most innovative companies in the world, you also get a unique experience, which is great to come in handy in his future career. Thus, the former evangelist and designer of user interfaces Apple Mark Cavanaugh released Storehouse iPad app for creating beautiful stories of the photos and videos. And I must say, a very good application.
In Storehose interface elements have iPhoto software familiar to us, Aperture and Photoshop. Epp's overall design is quite minimalist, with an application fairly easily managed through an intuitive interface, which is largely confined under the control of gestures. Fans of "apple Handwriting" will find in the program and attention to detail that is evident in many parts of the application.
Storehouse allows you to create your own "history" on the basis of your photos and videos. The app integrates with your Photo Library, accounts on Flickr, Dropbox and Instagram. Thus, the "pull" the desired video or picture is not difficult.
In addition to photos and videos, and you can add text, which is divided into 3 categories - normal, title and citation. This results in a very interesting "posts" if you can call it.
The application has a social component - you can view the history of other users. Some of them are really, really cool stories. For example, I liked the story «Island Obsession», which made the photographer and author of National Geographic Jim Richardson (which is why I have it and brought in the title picture, right).
His "History" can be shared in other social networks. And if you particularly liked some user, you can click "recommend" to its work seen by more people. All this is reminiscent of the principle of "public" blogging platform Medium, is not it?
And here is what Mark himself Cavanaugh says of his creation:
Storehouse focuses primarily on images that are in the ground and help to create beautiful stories. "Basic unit" content, as opposed to Medium, this is image
Answering the question of why Mark chose iPad, rather than, say, iPhone, or a universal app, a former Apple designer said, it's all about the screen size, which makes it easier to interact with users application.
Listen to Cavanaugh says about user experience - in his speech immediately feel the influence of the philosophy of Apple:
What you do in the Storehouse, based primarily on intuition. You iterate many pictures and videos until you find a good, meaningful combination
The app is really cool, and the good news is still in the fact that it is completely free. So iPad owners advised to try this EPP and share your impressions about it in the comments.
And Mark - respect and good luck. Let such people and applications will be more.
