Symantec employees reported their suspicions about the existence of the first in the history of Mac-botnet that conducts attacks such as "denial of service» (DDoS).
9 to 5 Mac provided information on the two existing types of malware for the Mac. It infected files OSX.Iservice and OSX.Iservice. B, which are distributed with pirated versions of iWork 09 and Photoshop CS4 applications. Both the Trojan is well known, many of them mentioned earlier.
At the moment, presumably contaminated for thousands of Mac computers, and the botnet started operating: infected computers can attack websites, send spam. Employees of Symantec Mario Ballano Barcena (Mario Ballano Barcena) and Alfredo Pesoli (Alfredo Pesoli) reported that the hacker approach to work is very flexible, and you can expect new malware modifications future.
But still no real threat: the botnet itself differently as fine can not be called (even network with 10 thousand infected machines today no longer considered), trojan infected is very difficult - it requires root-access, which is all the poppies on the disabled Default. Finally, even in the Symantec recognizes that Mac OS X users can not be afraid of viruses, Trojans and worms.
