Apple has once again continues to "witch-hunt" against the application developers for the mobile operating system iPhone OS. This time suffered creators of application widgets. Recent desktop devices demonstrate not only the wallpaper, but also additional information (for example, weather or news). These applications are officially removed from the App Store.
Among these programs, widgets for iPhone OS - Mashboard from Appwolf (just shows additional information on the desktop) and My Frame. This application allows you to impose a framework on the photos as you view them on your iPad. Among these frames - landscapes, nature, painted stickers with notes and so on.
The reason is that the widgets are prohibited for distribution in the App Store, is displayed on the screen more than one type of information at a time. So explains the situation the staff team, assessing applications for App Store. That is, if it is to view the photos, just in album format, and without additional frames and other features. And if it's your desktop on the screen, then again, no extra data.
It seems that in Cupertino doubt the intelligence of users, believing that the people can not cope with the amount of information displayed simultaneously on the screen of the mobile device. And while the ban of annexes containing erotic or sexual content, is quite justified and understandable, in this case with widgets situation is unlikely to adequately allowed. Besides, it is strange that when you remove one application widgets from the App Store, Apple employees left there others - for example, Desktop, such as a widget, as described above.
The only explanation for such a move Apple could become the company's plan to create their own widgets for iPhone / iPod touch / iPad and try to get rid of competition in the face of third-party developers. And although the latest news about the iPhone OS 4 of the widgets it is not conducted, it is possible that their publication will be a surprise for the people at WWDC 2010, to which a few days left.
