Apple continues to add features to their photoappendices, and one of the best innovations that appeared in iOS 8 - smart search by images, which greatly simplifies finding the necessary pictures. To learn how to use it - read this post.
As you know, the photos that you do on the iPhone, are linked to the corresponding geopozitsii that allows iOS to determine exactly where the picture was taken. In iOS 8, Apple has decided to go even further and gave users the ability to find photos by date and place of shooting with the new search.
Everything works very simple - click on the appropriate icon in the Photos app, and start searching. Available for you by date command (year, month) and locations (country, region, district, town, street). Additionally, you can find the pictures that were taken near your current location (next search team), or placed in your Favorites album. Now, in order.
Try to search by date. Will find photos by year and month of shooting by using appropriate commands. Everything works fine.
Now let's test search geopozitsii. Try the command "Stavropol region", "Seaside Boulevard." And all it displayed correctly again.
In addition to the date and time, you can search images for specific albums. For example, Instagram, VSCOcam.
When you click on a search, you can see the queries "Next" and "Favorites". They will show the photos taken nearby and those pictures that you "tagged" heart.
For clarity, we demonstrate all those chips in the video:
So, what options do a new search by pictures:
- Search by date (year, month)
- search by location (country, city, district, street)
- Search for Albums (VSCOcam, Instagram)
- Search photos taken near your current geopozitsii and Favorite Pictures
As you can see, the new search is very functional and can greatly simplify finding the desired picture. However, I would like to see the search format support images and video (panoramas, square, slot, slo-mo), and a more "humane" searches. It would be great to find pictures of the teams "Near my house", "A year ago," "two weeks ago", "Within a radius of 20 kilometers away from me." We hope that Apple will continue to improve search photos and make it even more advanced.
