Bookmarklets Browser is a convenient way to add a different weighting function without a lot of special extensions. About some of them I wrote in this article. But for all its benefits, they have a number of drawbacks. For example, adding bookmarklets stored in a chaotic manner to the Favorites bar or in a folder for bookmarks, and access them every time is not very convenient. So I want to draw your attention to the expansion of Backtick for Google Chrome, which is an easy to use interface for scripts and bookmarklets.
Backtick - a kind of command line to your browser. After installing the extension, in the toolbar, there is a new button, when clicked, displays a semi-transparent text box. You can also open it by pressing the hotkey ‘ (apostrophe).
Now you can enter in this field is the command you want, and as you enter all the appropriate options are displayed below. One click and the chosen bookmarklet is already running, producing open the desired page action. Most of all, this is reminiscent of the work programs on the Mac Quicksilver or Launchy for Windows.
Complete with Backtick comes a fair amount of useful scripts. Here are just a few of them:
- saving pages for deferred reading Readability;
- translating pages in Google Translate;
- page view copies of the Google Cache;
- share the page to Google+, Facebook or Twitter;
- skip commercials in YouTube;
- find out what font is used on the page.
In addition to this you can quite simply create your team based on your existing bookmarklets. Detailed instructions on this is here.
If your main activity takes place in the network, it can be regarded as the prototype of Google Chrome operating system, and Backtick expansion - as a powerful command line to perform a wide variety of actions. Of course, manually add the necessary commands can not be called comfortable, but in the next version of the author promises to greatly simplify the process of adding your own bookmarklets.
