In the past few years, e-books is very well established and have occupied a sizeable position in the market and in our daily lives, Recently, however, for electronic books came not the best of times, and therefore there is a very sharp decline in the number of sales.
Analysts believe that, at the end of this year, the e-book vendors will report on the delivery of 14.9 million units, up 36% less than in 2011, which has sold 23.2 million units. As for predictions for the future, then there is a question of an even greater decrease in the number of units sold to 10.9 million units. By 2016, it is expected to decline to 7.1 million units sold during the year.
The figures speak for themselves: we have already experienced the peak of the popularity of e-books and now all we can do is watch the gradual relocation of e-books on the same shelf with CDs, keypads smartphones and film Photos.
As the saying goes "the more rack, the louder the falling" and that's after the electronic books market of rapid growth from 2008 to 2010, when the number of sales has increased 10-fold from 1.1 million units to 10.1, we are seeing a little less rapid but still very noticeable drop sales.
Already such personal devices like a smartphone and a tablet replace the gps-navigators, mp3 and video players and many other devices that previously existed as a separate niche. It is because of the versatility and convenience, more and more people read on tablets, despite the advantages of electronic paper. Apparently the average user, they were not as important as the manufacturers expected from what we can conclude that the main unit will be just the tablet for future reading.
Manufacturers of electronic books well aware of the situation and are desperately trying to maintain its position more and more reducing the cost of bringing their own devices to its cost. It's no secret that Amazon sticks to just such tactics and relies on income from content sales. If giants like Amazon or Google make money by selling content for their devices, for smaller market players, this tactic does not work, that tells us that over time, leaving only the most "tenacious".
It is natural that as true predictions will be aware of the real facts and figures. Let's not give up hope that the manufacturers of electronic books will be able to do something that will help to regain popularity already so familiar to us gadget
