Motorola introduced a modular smartphone project

Motorola has announced an ambitious development called Project Ara.
The idea of modular phones is not new, it is sufficient to recall the failed miserably Israeli Modu project.
It is believed that the market did not accept Modu for the sole reason that both can be tacked to the phone, only one additional module. Apparently, the Motorola learned this lesson well.
As part of the announced project Ara Motorola plans during the year to create a device, which will consist of the endoskeleton and different modules attached to it. The user will have the opportunity not only to upgrade the processor and the camera on the more relevant options, but even change screen size and battery capacity, as well as add, for example, a keyboard, and new sensors to help monitor the health. But the most interesting looks Motorola's intention to make the project as open as possible and to provide an opportunity for everybody who want to create the most incredible modules!
The Motorola say they plan to do with the "hardware" of smartphones is the same as that at the time made a part of the program the operating system Android.
It remains to add that in 2011, Google has caught the right moment and bought up all patents for the development of the Modu modular, shortly before the acquisition of Motorola Mobility.
