Pic A Moment - easy search for photos in Instagram in time and place

If you've ever wanted to make a "journey through time" or just to refresh your memory, looking at what was happening in a particular place on a particular day - the app Pic A Moment can you help. Upon your request, it will find in the database Instagram photos of any event or time period.

The purpose of the application is not to show you what it looks like some particular place - you can see it in Foursquare, eg. Pic A Moment - it is a way to find photos with specific events, activities or incidents. The app itself is very easy to use - just drag the slider to choose the date that you interested (today, yesterday, last week, last month or choose the exact date in the tab "in the past "). Unfortunately, at the moment, you can search only within the last few months. When the date is selected, it remains only to enter the place where you want to "go".

On the results page, in addition to photos, you can see what other interesting things happened on this day, and even what was the weather. Each photo can be enlarged or go to the profile of the person who made it. According to the creators, Pic A Moment - it's a great opportunity to find the people who visit the same places as you. And indeed it is.

The app was created by a group of designers and developers of Wunderman company in Buenos Aires. Preceding their application development was Back2gether - Service to help find lost pets. Says Azanza Arias, who worked on the Pic A Moment, decided to create a similar application had come to them, because despite the fact that people constantly see photos from around the world, they "do not see the full picture and context linking them". She also shared that her team is now working on other opportunities to see the context.

Of course, an application to search the Instagram photos from specific locations existed before. For example, Instalook or Gramory. Also, there were ways to "travel through time", however, such applications often focus only on your personal photo collection, for example, Memoir or Timehop.

But Pic A Moment differs from its competitors in a fresh, modern design in iOS 7 style and it works faster, primarily because of the auto-complete function.

The app made its debut at the end of December 2013 and is now available in the App Store for free.
