HyperDock - Swiss Army Knife for managing windows in Mac OS X
Makradar Technologies / / December 19, 2019
In all these years we have seen a large number of tools to control windows. Some of them bring something new and useful, some are trying to copy the behavior of windows from other systems. HyperDock combines the features of both the others, and so much more.
To begin with, a small "digression". Probably many of you have experienced with the latest version of Windows 7, which among other things has been added many visual changes, among which are the Aero Peek feature. It shows a thumbnail of a running application window when the mouse is over its icon in the taskbar.
So, HyperDock adds this capability to the standard dock. Additionally, if you hover your mouse over the thumbnail appears, then a moment later the selected translucent window appears in the current Spaces. A thumbnail is also displayed Spaces figure, where the application window is placed, its status (visible or minimized), the title and close button of the window.
But that's not all. Hover your mouse over the iCal icon and see a list of upcoming events. For iTunes in general has a special box with a cover album, management and rating buttons (for this reason, I refused
I Love Stars). As far as I know, in the latest beta versions HyperDock author added the ability to control VLC and Spotify. In addition, the app simulates the behavior of another function of Windows 7 - Aero Snap, which allows a window to deploy quickly the whole or half of the screen. In the first case, the user will need to bring his header to the top of the menu bar, and the second - to one of the sides of the screen.
And for complete maniacs have the opportunity to move the window for any its point, holding down the key while Option + Control, and change its size by adding this combination of Shift. Frankly, I do not use these features.
HyperDock is a panel of System Preferences. In it you will find many options of behavior tools and Shortcuts tab, where you can configure the action to click on the icon in the Dock with different modifier keys.
At this point HyperDock is free, as is in beta testing, but in the future, the developers promise to introduce a small fee for the final version. And until that happens - you can try it in the case. Personally, I found this app very useful.
