The police of the Australian state of Queensland arrested 19-year-old Regan Houeta on suspicion of drug trafficking. Investigators believe that the man has established a network for the sale of banned substances using when communicating with clients instead of plain text emoticons Emoji.
Police officer, Sergeant Shane Turner, told the media that a young man named Regan Houet was arrested on Saturday at his home. In housing Regan had found the knife, 11 ecstasy tablets, a bag of white powder, and four mobile phones. The guy was detained by police, Regan indicted on 26 counts (including drug distribution and trafficking).
Sergeant Turner, based on the materials of the investigation, said Regan Houet communicated with customers via Emoji. Those wishing to purchase drugs wrote him a message in which, instead of the names of drugs used graphics, agreed in advance. This means that the fact of a criminal correspondence prove much more difficult.
Later, the young man was forced to release on bail, his passport was confiscated. Houeta lawyer said that the examination has not confirmed that the white powder is cocaine. "It was a friendly joke, but not cocaine," - said the lawyer. The court session was held on August 3.
