Working with windows in Mac OS X is peculiar. Switchers, just by clicking on OS X, often experiencing "culture shock": why by clicking on the "X", only the window is closed, and not a program? Why the window is maximized, you can only manually? Why change the window size can only by pulling the lower right corner?
The best thing in this situation, to understand the philosophy of decisions. Why Apple designers did so? Perhaps after a few days / weeks, this way of working will be more convenient?
If you have not become accustomed to the apple way, it is worth paying attention to Flexiglass application.
Flexiglass adds new features in the operating system to work with windows:
- It allows you to close applications with a single click on the "cross"
- can maximize the window to full screen with one click.
- automatically build windows. For example, you need to get one window takes up exactly half of the screen. You can do this manually, or you can automatically by hotkey (Window layout options - weight: full-screen, center, left half right half, lower left corner, lower right corner, etc. and, etc.)
- makes it easier to move windows (no need to aim for the title of the window)
Flexiglass - a good application that probably came too late. Soon will come the OS Lion, where some features are already implemented. Full-screen mode for applications, resize windows by both corners - these are the things that really do not have enough. The rest of the features of the application - the options window placement - are of interest to a very demanding, but still a small group of users.
you can download the official Flexiglass app store Apple. The price of the program - $ 8.
