5 tips for using Finder tabs in OS X Mavericks

OS X Mavericks brought us a whole bunch of new features: Maps, iBooks, the increased energy efficiency of the system. But I think that will not be mistaken if I say that the most long-awaited fichey all appeared Finder tab. We finally got them! Tabs have raised great ease interaction with files and folders in the Finder, giving us some new ways of working. In this small article I will talk about the most important ones.

Open a new tab by using a hotkey

Like to use shortcuts in their work? Then you probably know about the combination of ⌘TWhich allows you to instantly open a new tab in the current Finder window. Combine all your open windows in one

If you have not used (which I doubt), use the tabs in the Finder and is still open folders in new windows, that is a great feature to combine them into a single window with multiple tabs. open the menu Window — Combine all the windows and move all open windows into a single window. Move files between tabs

It is logical that for copying Faid need to drag a file from one tab to another. This action is intuitive and it works. If you hold the file a little longer on the destination tab, it opens, and you can place the file in the root of not only, but also all subdirectories. Conveniently!

"Rip" tab and "glue" them to other windows

If some of the tabs you do not need at this point in the current window, you can simply "vydergnut" from him - in this case, the tab will separate window. The opposite effect is also present. You can drag tabs between different windows. And yet, you can rearrange the tabs in the current window, thus changing their order. And yes, this method works similarly to Safari.

Tabs are very comfortable and the desired function, simply amazing why she appeared in OS X so late. But as they say, better late than never. Now that the tab finally appeared, we at least do not have to install all sorts of plug-ins for the Finder or use third-party file managers.
