Huawei unveiled its own operating system

OS can be used on smartphones, computers, smart speakers and other devices.

Huawei announced its own operating system - Harmony OS. In the future, it can replace Android smartphones of the company. However, the operating system is designed for a variety of other devices.

The new platform, formerly known as Hongmeng OSWorking on a microkernel. Because of this it can be used on a variety of devices - smart columns and watches, cars, computers, tablets and smartphones. Operating system works equally well on devices with both very small and a huge capacity memory.

In the future, Harmony OS can be run HTML5-, Linux and Android-application. Huawei will provide developers access to its code compiler Ark, which supports many programming languages. The company also allows you to use the new SDK, so that applications can run on different devices. For security reasons, Huawei will block access to the route-Harmony OS.

Huawei reiterated that I do not intend to give up Android. But if the company will be in a desperate situation, it immediately switches to its operating system. It will take a maximum of a couple of days.

Harmony OS is designed mostly for the Chinese market, but it just yet. Next year the company will open source code operating system, to be able to use it and other manufacturers.

The first device in the Harmony OS will be the television Honor Vision TV. It will go on sale in China tomorrow.
