Instagram launched Threads application, which is designed to communicate with friends. Through it, you can quickly send a person a text message, picture or video clip, as well as with a short status to tell what you're doing.

Send messages, pictures and stories through Threads only to those users whom you added to the list of close friends in Instagram. When you launch the app, it immediately opens the camera. You remain remove a photo or video, add a status and select a recipient.

Statuses can be added manually, but you can also allow the application to assign them automatically. To do this, it takes the data from the GPS-receiver, accelerometer, and even the battery.

The company says it does not use these data for the selection of targeted advertising. The location information is stored only on your phone, and after a while removed.

Instagram started Threads test in August 2019. The application is now available to all users of Android. As it will appear soon on iOS.
