10 reasons to visit Belgium - a country of chocolate

The Kingdom of Belgium. Dreamland kings, lace, chocolate and, of course, the stunning Belgian waffles. This is not a complete list of what can conquer your heart, this small country in Western Europe. We have prepared for you 10 reasons to visit the kingdom.
1. Royal Palace
Since childhood, from your favorite fairy tales we know that every king must be a beautiful castle. It is logical to start their journey is from the royal palace. Palais Royal de Bruxelles is located in the heart of the capital, the Brussels Park, and is the official residence of the Belgian monarch. However, the king used mainly for official events.
2. Belgian chocolate
His taste heard many. But few people know that chocolate has appeared thanks to the Belgian pharmacist (!). He was just trying to create a new cough medicine, and as a result created a chocolate.
3. "Jeanneke Pis"
We all know about one of the most famous sights of Brussels, symbol of the city - "Manneken Pis". It turns out that there is another similar fountain. Here in Brussels, there is a fountain-sculpture "Pissing girl."
4. Monument "Atomium"
This architectural structure was built as a symbol of the peaceful use of nuclear energy. Monument is a model molecule of iron, enlarged 165 billion times. Inside it is one of the fastest elevators in Europe.
5. Park "Mini Europe"
This miniature park at the foot of the monument to the aforementioned "Atomium". The park "Mini Europe" are copies of the most famous buildings in Europe. Their scale is 1:25. Here is some 80 European cities and 350 buildings over an area of 24,000 square meters.
6. European quarter
Since 1958, Brussels is the capital of the European Community. There is the European Commission's headquarters. The whole neighborhood was built specifically for the European Institutions.
7. Nemo 33 pool
One of the deepest pool in the world, built for diving. There are two platforms installed at different depths - 5 and 10 meters. And also "well" to dive to a depth of almost 35 meters. The pool also has artificial caves and windows to monitor the dives from the side.
8. Grand Place
This is one of the most beautiful areas, not only in Belgium but also in Europe as a whole. It is located in the center of Brussels. Here are the two most important attractions of Belgium - Town Hall and the Bread House. Every two years, in August, the area is decorated with famous European flower carpet. Its area is 1800 square meters.
9. Basilica of the Holy Blood
As you may have guessed, there are stored the remains of the Holy Blood of Christ. Who, as legend has it, brought from the crusade Count of Flanders Diederik. Blood of the Lord kept in the luxuriously decorated coffer. Every year on the day of the Ascension of Christ sweeps the chest during a solemn procession through the whole of Bruges.
10. Belfort
From this tower height of 83 meters you can enjoy a panoramic view of Bruges and its environs. On the ground floor is the Museum of Archeology.
