From the interview you will find out what life is in the journey, how much it costs, how to select the tickets for the trip home and to live in a foreign country. We also touched on the theme of traveling with children. Well, for a snack you will find a story about jobs these people. Naturally, all the questions you can ask us in the comments and be sure to add their site to your favorites;)
What were you doing before imbued with a philosophy of life in the journey? Does the system Mon-Fri 9-18? If so, what influenced your formation?
MashaI worked as a web designer for six years. These were the years of typical office work from 9 to 18, two days off per week and two-week vacation once every six months. two years, and then worked as a designer and photographer in the studio when the time accounted for the office in the set hours, part - was held in the location shooting. It has become freer, but wanted more. Then I enthusiastically read online diaries and blogs of people who for months and years traveling through India. I saw that they are not rich, young, happy. Knew that myself so I can, if I try to overcome the stereotypes and fears. To go on a month "exploration", everything went smoothly, and fears have disappeared. Later in the summer of 2007, I went on a trip to the land of India to climb through without a ticket back in the hope and drive until you run out of their savings. But it turned out that I can earn and remotely, so that the journey is still going on, becoming a
treveliving - life is a journey. The whole experience, starting with the one-month "intelligence", I described in detail in his diary in livejournal'e. Then, when we met with the Aje and began traveling together, we decided to combine our joint blog entries http://traveliving.org.Adjei: Before traveling, I was engaged in the organization of club events and DJing, working 1-2 nights a week playing Jungle in different clubs and their parties. I've never worked in an office and did not work for someone else, I did not receive a salary and I do not even have the work book, which I am proud.
What were your journey with a long stay?
Our journey began with a long stay in July 2007 and continues to this day. The longest we have lived and traveled in India - more than 2 years. In Thailand, we held six months. From May to October this year live in Bali, Indonesia, in October we fly to the Philippines to live there for about six months. In his blog, http://traveliving.org/ we just describe a way of life in the journey - your own, cheap and long.
Where and how better to buy tickets, watch housing prices and how to understand it in the desired region of how much it costs?
Our experience shows that searchers travel deals do not give the cheapest rates and promotionsAnd often do not include the local budget airline in the search, as it is not profitable to them. Commission with such cheap tickets to these airlines do not give anyone, so you can find them only on the websites of the companies themselves.
search algorithm something like this:
1. We make a request to Google: airlines of, airlines of. The task - to find a list of all local airlines. Typically, such a list is in the Wikipedia and Google it gives on the front page.
2. Find all of these sites and airlines to find them Route Map, or check the route you want.
3. Find your way all the direct flights between the two countries and choose the cheapest.
If direct communication is no, then you need to look for a major airport for transplantation. For example, for Southeast Asia is Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, for the Arab - Dubai and Doha, there is already need to know which cities are the largest airports in the region.
Further search algorithm is repeated, only need to have to look for a pair of tickets - from a country of departure to the city of transplants and from this city to the country of destination.
It is useful to register as a separate email box and subscribe to the mailing list of all the airlines in the region of interest. Often only mailings can learn about promotions.
If your flight is found, but the price is not satisfied, it is necessary to search for the next date, sometimes on a specific day or time are significant discounts (eg night Saturday and Sunday) and just about all the cheap tickets sold out, but for some days still have a few promotional tickets, you can find them only by spear. As a rule, the tickets are not from capitals is also much cheaper, so be sure to look for an alternative city of departure and landing.
All this certainly sounds complicated, but somehow I feel pleasure from the process, especially if you find something very cheap in the end :)
Presently our record - 39 dollars per 2800 km (A little more expensive than 1 US cent per kilometer), although there were shares when the same distance, you could buy a ticket for one dollar!
Housing prices it is always better to learn on the spot. The information in the guide books and on websites is often outdated or simply untrue. A booking websites will show you the same options that you can easily find on the spot several times cheaper. In Asia in general usually do not have to search for housing problems, it is not seen, so that all occupied. Very many budget travelers used the popular guidebook Lonely Planet, but these are often places where there are crowded or turn up prices. So our scheme of housing usually find this - look to the LP, where the accumulation of the cheap places, we go there, we find there 5-6 guesthouses listed in LP, and many more other unmentioned guesthouses, among which is necessarily a suitable us. If you are planning in this city or village to live at least a month, we stop at the guesthouse only a couple of days, we remove a scooter or a motorcycle and are looking for surrendering an apartment or house, circling the appropriate areas. In some areas it is more convenient and cheaper to rent a house for a long time, will help you learn the Internet, where there probably have reviews from other travelers. Surfing the web, in general, it helps a lot in the journey, can save literally in every situation. The main thing to not be lazy and be able to look for, so that the main reference cheat sheet in this case - is google.com. Sometimes, there are materials, which experienced already described how much it costs in this particular place. If we suddenly did not find this information, we experienced a method or with the help of local will learn and try to describe it in his blog.
How to live with children of preschool and, most interestingly, school age. With this many plugging.
We have no children themselves, but judging from the stories of our family friends, children are perfectly adapted to travel: very well they tolerate the road quickly get used to new places and find friends so they do not interfere with the language barrier in communicating with peers. Children bring a certain specificity in something limited, but are not the reason for the need to put an end to travel. Among our friends, parents, almost all live a long time in different places - seasons or years. This allows you and learn a new country and new people, and have time to work with children. Someone leads the children in international schools and kindergartens, where the child is learning English at the same time in practice. These schools in places where tourists and expats enough to choose from. Some prefer the usual local school, which is no worse than Russian, and perhaps even better. More fundamentally prefer home schooling. We too are in favor of this approach, because it is important to parents that the child is understood and he did not have "gaps" that will grow in the future, like a snowball. You can always go back and explain to your child that he did not understand what the school can do for him. By the way, our government even pays compensation if the child does not use his right to free education, as well as issues necessary allowance for parents and children, and may issue a state approved atestat, after the child pass the necessary exams.
Tell us what you earn personally, what are you working on, what you are doing.
Adjei: From the beginning of our journey, our budget is about $ 450 per person per month, this money is enough for a very comfortable for Asian standards of living - rent a modern home, a new bike, internet access, daily meals at restaurants, flights to neighboring countries.
At the beginning of the trip, I lived only on the money from the delivery room on the outskirts of Moscow, and this is just enough to not have to think about some earnings, and only deal with the fact that I like. And then I liked to learn different programming languages that eventually led us to the decision to create a website about our travels. Now he brings more than renting a room through the sale of links and advertising.
I'm working on a site, I install video and sometimes I write music on the Asus 1002HA, very pleased with this netbook! Video shoot on Panasonic NV-GS330 + Converter Rainox DVR-5002.
Masha: In recent years, our blog began to bring good income, which again stimulates the pictures, collect information and write new material. This now is our main job. In addition, I sell vector image photo bank, sometimes I draw illustrations to order and arrange the sale of prints of their photos. Little by little everywhere typed required for trevelivinga minimum. It is impossible to save, but do not starve, do not save much, we live in a comfortable environment.
