"Kinopoisk" named the 20 most popular series among Russians
Miscellaneous / / April 05, 2023
Interest ratings for September and October - taking into account projects for television and online cinemas.
Online cinema "Kinopoisk" for the first time published data from the Kinopoisk Pro Index, a tool that measures the popularity of TV shows among viewers in Russia. It is based on data from Yandex and Google and does not depend on where the show is released - on television or on the online platform.
"Index Kinopoisk Pro" takes into account the search for information about TV shows on the Web and visits to related pages, including TV channel sites, online movie theaters and video services like YouTube.
In September and October, the leaders in the interest of the audience turned out to be different. In the first case, the most popular was "dragon house”, which is not surprising, and then the Turkish TV series “Windy” intercepted the championship. Interest in the latter has grown sharply after the premiere on the Domashny TV channel.
Among the newcomers to the top of October, there are many Russian TV series, eight of which are autumn premieres. The most popular domestic projects during these two months are Real Boys (TNT), Life on Call (Kion), Artist (Russia 1), Major (Channel One) and Container » (Start).
The two main autumn premieres in the world are HBO's House of the Dragon andThe Lord of the Rings: Rings of Powerfrom Amazon. The interest of Russian viewers in both series became noticeable a few weeks before the premiere, but after the release of the first series at the end of August, "The House of the Dragon" abruptly went into the lead - interest in it was twice as high as in "Lord rings."
The statistics also note that in general, in 2022, interest in TV shows among Russians has steadily decreased. This is explained by the absence of major domestic premieres and important foreign releases of the “squid games».
