Write with ease: 7 golden rules

Even in school the teacher of biology, looking at my independent work, pronounced drawl, "Yes, brevity - the sister of talent. Ira, it's definitely not yours! ". Why biology? Because teachers of languages ​​(Ukrainian and Russian), and literature all definitely suit. They had more important "water", but pozakovyristee curls. In biology, as in physics, chemistry and mathematics, "water" in the control is not very welcomed for obvious reasons.

Unfortunately, the beautiful and articulate not given to everyone. As, however, just one desire and perseverance is not enough to become a really good writer. But this desire is enough to learn how to write interesting notes on any topic. And it does not have to be particularly talented. You need not be afraid of criticism, read a lot, do not be afraid to write all the time to practice.

I think that the 7 simple rules for writing and editing text will help many young journalists, bloggers, and perhaps even the future writer.

1. Try to make a good impression on the reader at the outset

Who will be the next to read a book, if from the very first paragraph it evokes a yawn and a syllable from the writer constantly sleepy? I think that this book is automatically falls into the section "Take it, if you really have nothing to read." In order for your books or articles were read to the end, they have to motivate readers from the very first paragraph, to stick to themselves like glue!

If you lose your reader right at the beginning, in such writing makes no sense. In this case, you are wasting your time and the time of the reader. Or stop these activities, or continue to learn on something more simple (short articles, notes or personal blog).

2. Write clearly and accurately, not as if you want to surprise someone

Why do you write? You do this in order to convey your thoughts to others, or in order to combat all on the spot with the skill to weave intricate phrases?

Write clearly and concisely. Use short sentences and simple words. Use words that first come to mind. And then you will obtain a more natural texts that are easy to read and remember.

The easiest way to expand your vocabulary and learn to write as if you are always only been doing - is to read a lot of books. And try to avoid using cliches and jargon.

3. Be specific - it will not kill you

Use short, clear sentences. Pay attention to the structure and construction of proposals that clearly conveys the meaning and draws readers.

Use short paragraphs. Tie them in a logical flow. For each idea to allocate a separate small paragraph.

4. Write correctly

At the time of writing the text, try to stick to the rules of grammar and punctuation. Check again whether all the commas and dashes in place. Re-read the text several times and make sure you get to hold a certain style.

5. If you are in some doubt, it is better not to write

If you have doubts about the spelling of a word or proper use in the context, it is better not to use it. Remember the short sentences, do not use a lot of complex odd words.

Do not get attached to the words or sentences. Each time you edit ruthlessly remove what you think aggravating circumstances and the proposal does not fit into the overall picture.

In the words of Stephen King:

"Kill your pets (Kill your darlings).»

Be ruthless and remove everything that does not sound the way you would like.

6. Respect copyrights

If you use someone else's sayings (especially of famous people), make sure that it was said to authorship.

Take care that your copy is fully consistent with the original. If you want to cut - do it at the end.

7. The final reading - read your text once again

You have to edit all of the text, even if it takes a lot of time. Double-check everything again, make sure that all the basic parts in place and associated logic chain.

Read aloud the last time. On hearing all perceived a little differently, so after that you can make the last changes and... read all the very last time.

And most importantly - do not be afraid to write. Let the first failure does not stop you. No offense to the people who, rather than to express their opinion on the meaning of the text, poke you in the grammatical and punctuation errors.

I can say from personal experience that the readers do not always do it politely, completely oblivious to the fact that the author is not a professional writer, editor and proofreader in one person. Too strong negative emotions can fight off all desire to write on. Therefore, I repeat once again on his own - do not stop! If there is already very difficult, then it is better to postpone this activity until better times. But just throwing everything on someone poked your nose in a network error, at least silly.

A famous writer you may not become. But beautiful, concise and interesting to express their thoughts on paper, or orally, be sure to learn.
