I have long been interested in sleep trackers. These are the applications and gadgets that keep track of how you sleep, sleep stages are analyzed and wake you up in REM sleep, when the body is most prepared for the upsurge. These applications simply flooded the App Store and Google Play. here that gives Google Play upon request sleep trackers. Dozens of applications, and it is unclear whether or not they work.
Not long ago, I spent experiment sleep, and after some time it ended in failure. The body does not want to get up so early, and to do it through the power I did not want. So I decided to try something new.
I bought a very popular Sleep Cycle app, which has been a pioneer in the field of sleep monitoring and wake up with him for a week. Here's what came of it.
To Sleep Cycle followed the dream, it must be put right next to each other. Then it will capture all your sighs, snores, turning and night trips to the bathroom. Yes, the future is now. The developers propose to put the phone near the head so that the microphone can pick up ambient noise.
Now to the most sleep. During the week, I went to bed at different times, from 11 pm until after midnight, putting the alarm clock each time at 7 am. The bottom line is that the application does not wake you up at 7 o'clock. Depending on whether you have entered a phase of REM sleep or not, it will try to wake you up in half an hour interval. That this is his job.
The first day I woke up very refreshed. Delighted, I thought that he had decided long sleep problem and now life will change forever. The next day I was waiting for failure. In half asleep I turned off the alarm clock and slept for half an hour more. Apparently, life will remain the same.
The next few days passed, with varying success. I came to the conclusion that the application is still running, and the first couple of seconds of awakening are really very good. It contributes to this more and gradually increasing the melody. Thanks to her, go out slowly from sleep and open your eyes. However, what to do then, it was not clear. Feelings about the same as before: getting out of bed is definitely not desirable. A application that warms you is disabled instead of heating, not yet invented.
What is worse of all, the phone will have to leave connected to the charge for the night. A couple of times I tried to leave the phone without charging. For a night out 90%, that is, when charging the phone (iPhone 5) to the maximum he still be able to withstand the night.
Almost all trackers sleep also show graphs of how much each phase of sleep lasted and what was its quality. Frankly, the difference in quality health after 97 percent of sleep and quality of the 69 percent of sleep I have not seen.
I have not decided whether I will continue to use the trackers sleep. On the one hand, to wake up easier, but quite a bit. Perhaps in the long run from them will be more useful. By the way, fans of the "harmful waves" of the phone will also be unhappy, because the device would have to keep the whole night near the head.
Should I try Sleep Cycle or another similar program for yourself? I think yes. Firstly, because they really help, though slightly; secondly, their effect may be varied, and who knows, maybe it is you feel for yourself the incredible benefits.
