Tyler DeWitt and his tale of germs, viruses and DNA

Relatively recently, my child became interested in "favorite" topic of the parents - where babies come from? No, I told him, of course, explained everything briefly and for a while he digested the information. But then he wanted to know more and that's just this "more" to explain on the fingers was very difficult. So I asked a sister, a child psychologist by training, choose an appropriate book.
After careful review, the book was chosen, but... to half of the terms used in this book needed a separate Dictionary. And not only for the child. So we had to again pull together and explain in simple words the pictures (illustrations in this book were correct).
Around the same problem encountered and Tyler DeWitt, a teacher of natural sciences in high school when he had to tell his disciples a new topic - the bacteria! It was from her in delight, his disciples - not. And the problem was not that the topic is not interesting for the students, but rather how it is described in textbooks.
Then Tyler decided to take matters into their own hands and little to change the approach.
