A new study by Canadian scientists proved: Life dog owners at 24% above the average. As a basis took 10 large-scale studies conducted in the 1950's and have covered 4 million people from 8 countries.
In such a huge amount of information the researchers were interested in two metrics: the presence of a dog person (or dog) and life expectancy. Data analysis showed that mortality in general (that is, the risk of dying from literally anything) in kennel 24% below average. When scientists dug deeper, it became clear that this benefit comes to heart health.
The owners of dogs significantly reduced risk of death from cardiovascular disease. Interestingly, this effect is more pronounced in people who have previously had a stroke or heart attack. In such case the appearance of a fluffy other reduces the risk of death from such disease by 31%.
Why is this happening? The researchers note that pets help to get rid of stressThat has a positive effect on heart health. This is fine, but the more important reason is obvious: you need to walk their dogs. Even if you do not go on the next block, regular exercise have a positive impact on your health.
