Exactly 15 months, I did not drink alcohol and coffee. My friends in Facebook and Twitter have asked me to talk about my experience. I did notice some side effects of giving up coffee and drink - share them in this article.
1. I save 1000 dollars a month
At the end of the second month, I noticed that I still had an extra 1000 dollars. Lot, huh? But spending a little every day, I did not see how such a phase shift is the sum.
I live in New York. So, if I spend 1000 dollars a month - it's only $ 33 a day. 2-3 cocktail cost $ 10 every day, a few bottles of wine home - 1000 dollars phase shift is easy.
Do you think that I alcoholic? Believe me, drink 1-2 cocktail evening - this is normal for New York. And getting out somewhere else, I would add to this the food or snacks. You will not just drink, and want to eat something. And before you know it, as 1 000 dollars has already been spent.
2. I spend less time on idle chatter
Very soon I noticed such a thing: my diet soft deprived me of some aspects of social interaction. Here is what I began to notice her:
- I just do not want to go anywhere. Too tedious to explain again and again why I do not drink. Yes, absolutely. And even one kokteylchik it is impossible.
- When a company familiar invites me to drink, I refused, because I have no desire to listen to sober all this gossip.
- If I still go with them, he can stay there for a maximum of an hour. So many sober person can concentrate in the drunken company.
- I was never an avid party-goer, and after giving up alcohol completely stopped going to clubs. It is entertaining to watch as everything connected with alcohol are gradually erased from life. For example, I realized how much I had friends, Communication with them was based only on the desire to have a drink together.
"And do not drink do we?" - this is the motto of our lives. Because no one says, "Hey, guys, let's get together sober, sit down and talk." It is more, hell, why? Why gather? "Let's go have a drink!" - that's the appeal, which is self-explanatory. Everyone knows why and what will happen next.
3. I began to sleep better
Alcohol Exclusion from the diet dramatically increased sleep quality. I'm not talking about falling asleep, but about quality. Everyone knows that it is easier to fall asleep after a glass of beer or wine - a well-known "sleeping dose." But it is the quality of sleep suffers.
Now I sleep better and wake up more energetic. I used to literally destroy your morning a couple of glasses of beer before going to bed. Of course, if you do a little bit of 20, then you are unlikely to be familiar with these feelings. Everything will come with time.
4. No coffee - less panic, less stress
Not the fact that my personal feelings are the same for the rest. Here, everything is individual. Giving up coffee, I became more calm and relaxed. I stirred the coffee too, increased anxietyWere problems with the digestive system. When caffeine is gone out of my diet, I became more relaxed, and cocoa as king.
Despite all this, I love the smell and taste of coffee. So sometimes dabble decaffeinated beverage. Now summer drink iced tea in the winter - warm.
What is interesting, "drink coffee" - is also a larger social activity, rather than a desire to really enjoy a drink. But this activity can be saved by replacing the coffee itself to something else.
To summarize, I can say that I'm happy with my decision and I do not plan to start drinking coffee and alcohol again. But I'm not saying that you need to do the same. If you are satisfied, you are happy - no need to change anything. I am your habits I changed out of curiosity. And, as it turned out, I like my new state.
