When we were children, we were able to live in the present. Now most of his life, we simply exist. But you can learn to live again. Erik Bertrand Larssen, author of "Now!", Says quite a bit to change the way of thinking, and then you will discover a whole universe. Bit - a lot.
Who is Eric Larssen?
Erik Larssen - leading trainer in business and personal growth, and the author of two best-sellers: "Without self-pity" and "at the limit". He served in the Norwegian special forces and developed a program of "Hell Week," changed the lives of millions across the globe. Eric is able to inspire and ignite people. And he knows how to change a life for real.
no balance
There is a legend that there is a balance between work, family, hobbies, and other important things that we need to reach.
But the truth of life is that such the balance is not possible. How do you imagine that an adult family man at the same time building a career, periodically traveling and resting in the Maldives goes to the children's morning and still spends several hours a week fitness club? Of course, he may try to do it all, or at least dream about it, but it is absolute failure. He thinks that with him that something was wrong and he is a failure, just can not achieve balance. Is not that crazy? More what!
Society forces us to chase the illusion of success. So we fall into the trap, as in the squirrel cage. We run and run, trying to succeed everywhere, but the damn thing does not have time.
Understand, it is impossible to achieve success in all aspects. But this, of course, does not mean that now you can lie down on the sofa and do nothing else. Just much better to dwell in blissful tranquility than constantly reproach yourself for failure. You will feel better if you are aware of the impossibility of balance.
pulse ninja
Once Eric in a movie seen a ninja who defeated opponent in a fight in an unexpected way - pretending to be dead. His enemy did not find the pulse of the ninja and relaxed, thinking that it is already done. But it was not there! At that moment, the ninja was on his feet and beat your enemy.
You can apply the same method in everyday life, in order to "defeat the enemy". When everything around you turns into chaos, there are many unsolved problems, and you flap and nervous, try the following.
Erik called this exercise "Pulse Ninja". Sit comfortably. Focus on your breathing. Breathe in as deeply and slowly as possible. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... Slow breathing as much as possible. When you feel that the world has stopped and your heart beats is now just 100 slower, at this point you will become the most ninja.
In this exercise, there is a great bonus after you will be able to perceive what is happening around is much quieter and more consciously. Well, stop nervous.
A list of 16 items
Recently Erik Larssen and other coaches held classes in Norway. They offered to students to answer the question: "What are the 16 things for you the most important in life," Ask this question to yourself and write down the answers on paper.
Participants initially thought that a list of 16 things quite difficult. But in fact, they are easily and quickly coped with this task.
But these steps have been really difficult. Because now it was necessary to delete from this list first five points, which are important less likely, then remove three more, and so on, until the list does not remain just three points. The most important three points. So we consciously set priorities, leaving only the most-most important.
Normally, this exercise is the opposite: we invent and write down the three most important things. But then left without attention to other things that are important to us. Without a full list, we do not take them into account and, accordingly, do not appreciate their importance.
Catch the wave
To catch the wave of calm and return to the time "Here and now", Ask yourself the following questions. Especially when you are just busy with something or are thinking about something.
- I feel peace within yourself?
- I breathe deeply and slowly? Do I control my pulse?
- I see the beauty around you? What is it?
- I feel a joy in itself, and from what?
Find the answers within themselves.
When you return to the present moment, it becomes a very valuable and unusual. This is mindfulness. You are not somewhere in the past and not the future, and here. You are open to the world.
So we gain a little more inner strength, and therefore quiet. If everyone is a little calmer, kinder, more generous and more attentive, then the world will change for the better. Bit - a lot.
