What books are your favorite?
Favorite writer I do not have. In childhood and adolescence inspired me pisateli-fiction like Asimov and Zelazny, now I quickly jumped period of fascination business literature and am in a vacuum - reach for everything.
From childhood, I most remember the books that can not be called just too childish - they are about how children faced with adult problems during the long travel experience and see a lot, and it changes their forever and ever. It is "The Neverending Story" (Another name for a Russian translation - "History is no end." - Approx. ed.) and "Jim Buttons and driver Lucas" Michael Ende.
What books do you recommend?
No matter how it was funny, me most at the time was inspired by "Atlas Shrugged"And its lighter counterpart -"A source"Ayn Rand. It is fashionable to consider it frivolous comics, but when you're 18 years old, it can bring on some ideas and give impetus.
Books, from which I could not stop until you read to the end, there were several. From the latter, I would have remembered fanfic "Harry Potter and the methods of rational thinking"Eliezer Yudkowsky - this is a very weighty book, but incredibly addictive. It is not only totally unexpected interpretation of the well-known story, but also a source of vast amounts of knowledge about the world.
I can not say what the book a must-read for every person, but journalists always advise "Craft"Leonid Bershidsky"News, online journalism"Alexander Amzin (by the way, he argues, that already finished the new version). But those who believe that never emerges from an endless search itself, should read "Of Human Bondage"Somerset Maugham.
What have you read recently, and why did you choose it?
The last book that I remember - it 'Empire must die"Michael Zygar because actually I did not read it yet, stuck in the middle: it is very difficult to wade through the infinity of facts, names and dates. In high school I did not like the story, and preferred the exact sciences, but now awakened love affairs in me of days gone by and I often just read in "Wikipedia" article about the events. During the beginning of the XX century for me particularly interesting, so, anyway, I finish reading a book.
I also finished reading through the power of "Business from scratch"Eric Rice, because he wanted to feel a little deeper than the live and breathe our readers who are engaged in the development of small business. Through the power - because the entire American business literature tend to walk around it, and the repetition of the same thought.
A good book I read a few years ago on the advice of my mother - it 'The Kindly Ones"Jonathan Littell, a look at the war through the eyes of an SS officer, a powerful thing.
How do you read?
I read in the main screen and pay for Bookmate every month. Sometimes it's nice to pick up a paper, but even for me it is not a question of principle, because the past few years, I read from time to time - too much work.
I'm keeping a list of books read in Evernote, there is accumulated a list of what I would like to read - apparently already retired.
