After Apple bought PrimeSense, There were a lot rumors the introduction of 3D technology in the company's future products. Rumors began to come true. The new Apple patent describes a device that processes information about light and allows it to determine the basis of the gestures and position of objects in space.
PrimeSense - a company that previously created the Kinect technology to Microsoft. The device described in the patent, comprises an optical sensor, which allows to build a 3D model of the space located in front of it, based on the light refraction angle.
In theory this device might be a plurality of applications. The most simple - control with gestures prefix Apple TV, more complex - the introduction of 3D gestures that allow even the professionals to simplify their work.
No information on the implementation of this technology in the production is not, so the device can see the light, as a year later, and in a few decades. A good example of this situation is to provide a Patent legacy of Jobs.
