The new scale in the Android-application will indicate when it is better to go to work, not to get into traffic jams.

To test the new feature in action, get directions from one point to another. «Google Maps", as usual, will show the approximate travel time and distance, as well as a new panel.

The scale shows how much time will be spent on the road now - column scale is marked in green, yellow or red depending on traffic. You will see how many would have reached the desired point, if set off half an hour ago. Also you will be able to compare the information with the forecasts for the next few hours.

The innovation does not work perfectly. Judging by the scale of the screenshot above, at 11:00 am to get to the destination would have to be longer, but how much - is not clear. In addition, the function is useful only within the cities or small areas of the map. In other cases, the height of the columns does not change.

The new feature will become available for all Android users in the near future. When it appears in the «Google Maps" for iOS, it is not yet known.
