The new, 58th version of Mozilla Firefox will be safer thanks to the decision of the Tor Browser. Developers will ban hidden transmission of the so-called browser print (canvas fingerprint), by which the user can be identified.
This element is a hash of the image or text generated using HTML5-tag canvas. Since when canvas is based on the parameters of a specific computer, he created the elements are unique and allow the user to track the movement of the web. New Firefox, like Tor, will ask for permission to transfer the data.
The chip canvas tag has aroused the interest of data brokers, services for Analytics web properties and social networking in 2012. Then the law came into force the European Union, which has banned the main tool of surveillance - a hidden recording of cookies without users' permission. In turn, the user does not save personal canvas in the browser, and therefore find fault with this tool is impossible.
The output of the 58th version of Mozilla Firefox is scheduled for January 2018.
