First of all are evident changes in the interface. The mobile application has received a new design style Material Theme, which is characterized by an abundance of white and rounded outlines the main elements.
The application window is now divided into three tabs. "Home" contains the current performance of your physical activity. On the "History" you can see the data on the athletic achievements for any day, week or month. A tab "Profile" contains information about the user: gender, height, weight, age and so on.
But the most important changes "under the hood". Now Google Fit focuses on two simple indicators - minute cardio activity and points. This algorithm was developed by Google in conjunction with the World Health Organization (WHO) as the most versatile and convenient way of tracking and comparing physical activity. It is much better motivated to lead a healthy lifestyle than a regular count steps or calories.
Minutes of activity are awarded for any activity: walking, running, gardening, playing tennis, dancing or even cleaning. But to make cardio points, will have to sweat. And the more intense will be the load, the more points you will be credited per unit time.
WHO recommends that earn at least 150 points in the week, but nothing prevents you to set a more ambitious goal. Google Fit, by the way, is now able to give hints about the need to increase the load, or, conversely, to reduce the amount of exercise, so that it may in some sense serve as a fitness trainer.
Google Fit app is able to collect information from a variety of other sports services, including Strava, Runkeeper, Endomondo and MyFitnessPal. In addition, the application can independently monitor different types of activity, such as walking, running and cycling. To do this, just enough not to forget to take the training smartphone. You can also at any time to add information about their activities manually.
