Save the settings, applications, call history, messages, and other important information.
Android OS has long been able to download the data and settings in the Google Drive cloud. Until recently, however, this system operates automatically without any user intervention. Creating new backup started only when the device has been connected to a power source and a Wi-Fi network.
A recent update of Google services has brought a long-awaited opportunity to launch a backup copy manually. Here's how to do it.
- Open the operating system settings and find the section of Google.
- Go to "Backup". Here you will see a button "Start Backup". Under it presented a list of data to be stored in your account. These include call logs, messages, contacts, Android setup, photos and video, and data applications that support this feature.
- Click on the "Start Backup" and wait until the process is finished.
This feature is useful in cases when you need to quickly save all important data in a safe place. For example, if you purchased a new smartphone and want to fully transfer to it all the necessary information, including system settings, applications, contacts and messages.
Manual backup appears on Android smartphones in stages, together with the software update. If this feature is still not available, make sure that you have installed the latest version of Google.
