Why do I need to use an external battery charger (+ Poll)

Not so long ago, coming during regular journeys, I asked in my account Tweeter-board, a solar charging module to buy to feed my gadgets in the path. I got some advice, I'd better buy an external battery (particularly convincing were @pdidenko and @sbulaev), as well as the recommendations for solar modules. To test solar modules, I realized that I have for them is often not the main thing - the sun :) phone then sits down at the airport, on the train, then all night. So I came to an external battery.
The advantage of this gadget (I bought BELKIN, you can buy any of the hundreds of cheaper and more convenient for you chargers) is that you charge it from the mains and then use it to recharge the phones and tablets, which have a constant feature discharged. It cost $ 75 in Kiev. My battery has 2 USB ports that can charge my iPhone, and iPad. The battery capacity of my charger - 4000mAh. This means that it will not suffice to fully charge the iPad - only slightly more than half (iPad2 battery capacity is 6930mAh). But on it I can charge two iPhone 4s - he battery capacity 1420 mAh. And if you leave the house with a fully charged phone, then you are "with them" will have three charging - profit!
In my case, charging only have to phone, tablet life enough for any journey - will soon be over charge my brain :)
When buying this gadget even pay attention to the charging current that it can provide to your gadget. For example, some cheap offer 500mA charging current when the need to 1000mA (1A) for a normal charge is the same iPad. Also note what adapter USB → X is in the set. In my battery adapters are USB → microUSB and USB → miniUSB. If you need any special adapter kits, then pay attention to it.
And what kinds of chargers for the journey you have chosen? Where to buy? Satisfied with your purchase?
