US plans to return to the moon for the first time since 1972

More than 50 years after the last Apollo mission, a private American company, Astrobotic, is set to return the United States to the Moon. She announced the imminent launch of the Peregrine spacecraft to the satellite with a planned landing. Start will take place It's already December 24th.
Astrobotic CEO John Thornton noted that there will be no crew on board Peregrine, but the module will be equipped with special NASA instruments to study the lunar environment in anticipation of manned missions Artemis.
The takeoff will take place from Florida using ULA's first rocket, the Vulcan Centaur. The probe will then take "a few days" to reach lunar orbit, but will have to wait until January 25 to ensure the lighting conditions at the target location are suitable before attempting a landing.
