I do not use Spotlight. This is due to the fact that I own a Mac recently and the fact that I do not see there's no point. However, there are several third-party utilities that significantly pumped its functionality. One of them is Flashlight. On the other, which allows to restart, turn off and lock your computer from Spotlight, we'll talk later.
I made a reservation, it's not utility, but a whole set of utilities. A total of 5 and each is responsible for a team of:
- Lock.
- Switch User.
- Sleep.
- Restart.
- Shutting down.
Why create a tool for every team? This is due to the work Spotlight features. So how to execute the command you need to type the name of the utility, combine them into one was impossible.
Here is a plan of action:
- Download the archive with utilities here.
- Unpack it in any convenient place.
- Run Spotlight and type any required command.
To turn off the computer writing «Shutdown», to restart the «Restart» and so on. To some this method is not very comfortable, and I agree. I rarely reboot or turn off the computer, so the need for such utilities do not test. But maybe someone has a different situation? Tell.
