After buying the Mac I had two small complaints about OS X: iTunes automatically opening when I click any link in the App Store and launch in Safari Capture applications and iTunes when you connect the iPhone and iPad. Neither one nor the other does not suit me and get rid of it was not immediately apparent.
I had to collect information bit by bit, because the full Gajda I could not find it. Once found, we had to do everything myself. Below I'll talk about how to prevent Mac to open iTunes, iPhoto and Image Capture on their own initiative.
Prohibit open iTunes while surfing in Safari
If you open a link in Safari any application, Mac will automatically launch iTunes, so you look at the app there. Useless? Over, and even annoying. To remove this feature, you need to install the extension for Safari NoMoreiTunes, which can be downloaded here.
After its installation instead of running iTunes will display a small panel, click on which will open iTunes.
Prohibit the launch Image Capture and iPhoto when you connect your iPhone or iPad
If you have installed iPhoto, then it will open each time you connect your iOS device. The problem is that even if it is not installed, an uncontrollable desire to OS X to open anything leads to the discovery of Image Capture application. Here's how to remove it:
- Go to the Image Capture, select the connected device and click on the small icon in the bottom left corner.
- Open the application list and select "No program".
Now when you connect your iPhone will not open anything. Well, almost nothing. It remains to deal with iTunes.
Prohibit open iTunes when you connect your iOS device
To prevent open iTunes, you need to connect your iOS device to your computer and select it in iTunes. Then scroll down and disable the option "Automatically sync when this iPhone (iPad) is connected."
Now Mac will not open up everything as long as you do not ask for it!
