The program is aimed at teachers of media classes, school media managers, and specialists in the development of media literacy among schoolchildren.
The program consists of 2 modules, each of which lasts 36 academic hours. Training can be completed in two modules at once, or in each of them separately.
Module 1: “Media class teacher: journalism. First year of study."
Module 2: “Media class teacher: television journalism. First year of study."
Labor intensity: 72 ac. hours.
42 ac. hours – full-time with the use of distance technologies, 30 ac. hours - independent work.

4 working days for Module 2 “Media class teacher: television journalism” (grade 10).
Classes are held daily in the evening, 2 pairs: from 18:30-20:00 and 20:10-21:40.
Currently, part-time and part-time courses are planned using distance learning technologies (working on the Zoom and Microsoft platforms Teams), however, much depends on the epidemiological situation in Moscow: for the safety of students, training can be conducted in online format.
The professional development program is designed specifically for teachers planning to conduct classes in media classes in the courses “Media journalism” and / or “TV journalism”, as well as school leaders editorial staff
The goal of the program is to improve the competencies of teachers in the field of journalism, creating texts and video content, and organizing project activities.
The Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University is an official partner of the “Media Class in Moscow School” project, actively participated in its design, launch and development, carried out examination of entrance assignments tests.
Faculty members are the authors of the programs for two key special courses for 10th grade schoolchildren - “Media journalism” and “Television journalism”, in accordance with which this advanced training program was developed, aimed at teachers.
As part of the CPD training, teachers will master effective methods of teaching journalism and learn how to adapt educational materials to requirements and tasks of school editorial offices will have the opportunity to supplement the theoretical base with a selection of current examples and practical exercises.
The program does not require any prior preparation. It is designed for students with higher or secondary vocational education and who want to expand their ideas about the basic principles of creating journalistic texts and/or video content of various genres and formats.

The admissions committee will respond by sending a sample letter of guarantee and a completed agreement for signature. The form of the agreement cannot be changed. Labor intensity: 36 ac. hours. Of these: 20 ak. hours – full-time with the use of distance technologies, 16 ac. hours - independent work.

Program content
Module 1: “Media class teacher: journalism. First year of study."
During the first module, students will become familiar with the fundamental rules of creating professional journalistic texts, working with sources of information and fact-checking. The program will also expand the understanding of the genre system of modern printed and digital periodicals, will give the opportunity to master the basic principles of writing texts of various genres and formats - reports, news notes, interviews, etc. Special attention will also be paid to the creation and adaptation of texts for various social networks.
Module 2: “Media class teacher: television journalism. First year of study."
The program of the second module is aimed at expanding ideas about working with video content of various genres and formats. Listeners will become familiar with the basics of working with information, learn about the specifics of preparing news releases for video broadcasts, the basic principles of filming a report, street talk and recording interviews. One of the lectures is devoted to creating video content for social networks.
Learning outcomes
As a result of mastering the course, students will know the basic approaches to teaching journalism and/or television journalism and related career guidance disciplines in the new digital realities, features of the work of school media, the basics media literacy. They will also be able to use prepared tools for teaching career guidance courses in journalism, adapt students’ educational materials to the requirements of school media and their audiences, draw up development course programs media literacy. Teachers who have completed the training will become proficient in effective educational technologies in the field of teaching journalism, supported by a base of cases and practical exercises, skills in lesson planning and development media projects.
Studying in the program will also improve the competencies of teachers in using effective teaching methods in a digital educational environment.
The total duration of the program is 72 academic hours (36 in each module), more than half of which are provided by classroom training – lectures by leading teachers of the Faculty of Journalism, seminars and master classes, implying the active involvement of students in the learning process.
Based on the results of the training, students are issued a certificate of advanced training from Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov.
