Ability to model Fusion is not only a useful skill, but also a good start for learning Hard Surface design. You will learn to create simple Hard Surface assets from scratch and master one of the most popular programs in the industry.
WHY FUSION 360?
Fusion 360 is a 3D modeling program that is fundamentally different from programs which are usually used by 3D people - because it was originally created for engineers and architects. That doesn't mean it's difficult, it just means you can do things that Maya or Blender can't.
The strength of this program is that its tools allow you to forget about topology and always work with the final version of the model.
WHAT IS HARD SURFACE DESIGN?
3D modeling is divided into two directions: Organic and Hard Surface.
“Organic” is, conventionally, characters, trees and animals, and Hard Surface is everything that is made by human hands. Robots, guns, equipment, armor and so on. A stool, for example, will not be considered a Hard Surface - it is designed too simply.
HOW IS THE TRAINING GOING?
PRE-RECORDED LECTURES
The main course program is made in the form of small video lessons. All videos are edited and systematized. When purchasing, you will immediately get access to all lectures, and it stays with you forever.
COMMUNICATION ON DISCORD
You will not have a lack of communication. We will create a separate Discord channel for the course where all students will communicate.
There will be separate chats for programs, buttons, interesting topics and projects that students will create. I know that beginners are often embarrassed to ask questions because they think they are stupid. For these purposes, we have created a special chat “dark questions”, where you can get answers to them.
HOMEWORK
Despite the low price, the course will include homework and a full-fledged thesis assignment. Two weeks after the start of the course, I will hold a stream in which I will review works that will well illustrate the process, point out mistakes and give advice. Those who join the course later will be able to watch the recorded stream.
The course consists of nine lessons. In the first four I will talk in detail about specific instruments. Each lesson is divided into two parts: a short overview of the topic and a detailed analysis.
The remaining five lessons will focus on practice. I'll demonstrate how to use all of these tools in conjunction with each other, and model a futuristic turret, explaining in detail how to do it yourself.
The course is self-sufficient - after completing it, you will receive the necessary minimum knowledge, thanks to which you will be able to create simple assets from rigid forms in Fusion 360.
But, at the same time, it is a small part of my large course on Hard Surface.
In nine lessons you will master specific skills that you can put into practice.
I'll teach you how to use basic Fusion tools from scratch.
Even if you've never worked out in your life 3D, in just five lessons you can model a simple asset.
If you already model, for example, in Maya/Blender/3Ds Max, then you will master working with a completely different program.

Navigation and Interface Basics
This is a “classical polymodeling” program, which has been used by top 3D artists for many years. It provides a huge toolkit for creating 3D models of any complexity. -
Sketch objects + task
You will learn how to create and modify sketch objects. This is the most important step: 95% of the objects you will create will start with sketches. -
Solid objects + task
We will talk about solid objects and the tools with which you can work with them: Extrude, Sweeper, Pattern, and others. -
Construction Planes + task
In the fourth lesson we will understand what Construction Planes are and how to use them. Let's learn how to make offset planes, planes through three points and planes along the way. -
Finale: sci-fi turret
Having dealt with the theory, in the fifth lesson we will apply all the knowledge gained in practice and model a sci-fi asset. Your thesis will be a similar model. 2 weeks after the start of the course, I will hold a stream where I will selectively comment on the works, perhaps it will be your work.
