Google Drive users report their files disappearing

Check your storage too.
Google Drive users collided with the problem of disappearing files: some of their documents completely disappeared from the cloud service, and the folder structure was rolled back to the state of May 2023.
Complaints arrive to the Google support forum. The company's developers have already responded that they are looking into the problem and advised not to make any changes to your Google Drive if this affects you.
Users who lost files clarify that they never shared their cloud data or storage with anyone else. This eliminates the possibility that the original owner of the files deleted them or blocked access.
While Google is trying to find the cause of the problem, it is worth checking access to lost files from other devices where Drive was used. If the files are really nowhere to be found, all you can do is wait.
