The Human Field Osteology program focuses on the practical basic aspects of working with human skeletal remains in the field. Students receive basic knowledge about the structure of the human skeleton and its variability in normal and pathological conditions, develop skills in working with human skeletal remains in the field, and the ability to distinguish human bones from animal bones and identify skeletal elements (including fragmentary and poorly preserved ones), determine sex and age, and describe the main pathological changes skeleton.
