The Department of Advertising and Public Relations exists at the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University named after M. IN. Lomonosov since 1989. For more than 25 years, the department has been training advertising and PR specialists on a full-time basis.
In September 1997, the first intake for the professional retraining program “Public Relations and Advertising Specialist” took place.
During the existence of the program, many top managers of leading PR agencies in Moscow and Russia, employees of press services and public relations departments of various companies took the course.
Upon completion of the program, a Moscow State University diploma in professional retraining is issued, giving the right to work in the specialization “Public Relations and Advertising Specialist.”
“PR is a communication of understanding, mutual understanding and interaction. In one academic year, we try to create such intensive courses as to “awaken” this gift in our students: in order to understand, you must first know - and therefore you need theoretical courses, to comply with yourself - and some applied disciplines help with this, to be aware of communication technologies - master classes are taught by experienced practices".

Skills being developed: image building and image creation, ability to conduct anti-crisis communications, theoretical and practical knowledge of brand management, promoting goods, services and companies, holding events and organizing press conferences, creating advertising texts and press releases.
Teachers
Classes are taught by professors and teachers of Moscow State University named after M. IN. Lomonosov, as well as leading professional practitioners of the largest PR and advertising agencies in Russia. During the training, students become familiar with modern PR technologies, the experience of press centers and public relations departments of the largest companies in the country.
Training schedule
Classes are held 3-4 times a week in the evening.
Conditions of enrollment
The program accepts persons with higher or secondary vocational education. Admission is based on the results of the interview.
Purpose of the program
Acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to work as a specialist in advertising departments and public relations departments, head of the press center or personal PR assistant of the media faces.

Master classes with leading specialists from advertising and PR agencies; working with speech and communication at business meetings and negotiations; writing advertising texts and press releases; analysis, analysis and solution of cases in the field of advertising and public relations; studying the psychological and sociological aspects of the profession; synthesis of acquired knowledge in the process of writing the final work.
